Pangkor Laut Resort ~ Uncle Lim's Special Birthday Feast

Once we enter the kitchen, the friendly staff seated us and showed us the menu.

most of the staffs here will politely tell you their name and showed their name tag, which I feel they are sincere.

We made reservation for the upgrade of Uncle Lim's dinner to the dinner feast on the next day because the herbal chicken required 24hrs of prior booking, but the staff, Dian assured us that we can have it tonight as the kitchen prepared enough for the guests. We were flattering :)

For the upgrade, we have 2 starters, 4 main dishes (choose from 7) and 2 desserts.

*Hock Chew Fish Maw Soup*
sour and spicy style, I like it as a starter

*Four Seasons Platter*
lor bak: fried spiced chicken roll in bean curd skin
egg foo-yong with lettuce cups
sweet and sour style prawns
calamari with peanut sauce
super love the egg! sooo yummy even it is so simple!
We cleaned up all the food of this platter. No crumb behind.



*Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Kampung Koh Chili Sauce*
oh yes, they serve rice too!

the crab - crunchy like having snacks
the manager, Ong came to our table and chat with us
Ong: Please make yourself like a superstar tonight. Because Gigi Leung was sitting here with her husband when they visited this restaurant. If you do not have enough of white rice, please let any of our staff know and we will bring you more.
We felt honoured :)

*Steamed Free-Range Chicken with Chinese Herbs*
this soup is a BOMB!
No wonder it required booking. 
The herbs and chicken make it sweet and smooth, totally perfect for a picky soup drinker like us!

*Stir Fried Scallops with Ginger Wine*
great combination of soft scallops and crunchy celery. 

*Stir Fried Fantasy Lobster with Chinese Black Bean Sauce*
a bit disappointed, I don't see the whole lobster presentation

*Hock Chew Red Rice Wine Noodles*
too bloated but still squeeze this mee sua in the tummy

we were so bloated!!!
all the yummy food inside the tummy, so sinful yet so satisfied!
while we sipping on the tea - tie guan ying, suddenly a staff coming to our table and show up with this - my birthday cake :)

soon after I thanked for the cake, Uncle Lim came to our table and wish me Happy Birthday! I'm so honoured! He is a humble man. 
The question he throwed to me was: What's your lucky number?
A very friendly man he is!

Conclusion
This is really a perfect dining experience for a birthday feast :)

We took the shuttle back to the villa because it was rainy evening.
Reached the villa and found out our room had been tidy up by the housekeeping, awww....so comfy to sleep on it and do nothing after sumptuous meal~ oink oink~

Pangkor Laut Resort Getaway ~ Day 1 *20 Sep 2014*

This getaway is really worth a blog!
Here we go!

It took us 3 hours from KL to Marina Jetty.

Upon the arrival at Marina Island Jetty, we were welcomed by a cold hand towel and cold cordial drink. It was so chilling under hot sunny day. The lounge was very comfy and holiday started here!

Drop off the luggages, the staffs quickly put a tag on each of them and we just walk to the speed boat without worries. 

Everyone put on the harness and here we go to PLR!

Speed boat took off at 1300hr. It took about 15-20 minutes from Marina Jetty to PLR jetty.

We were welcomed by the staffs from jetty all the way to the reception area and we were seated at the lobby for some personal briefing & tips during our stay.

Check in time is 1500hr.

Therefore, we decided to have lunch while waiting for the check in.

Our Resident's Package inclusive of 2 breakfast, 2 lunch and 2 dinner for this 3d2n stay.

Our first lunch @ Royal Bay Beach Club, facing the east of the island.

Our package allowed us to choose 2 appetisers and 2 main dishes.

Appetiser 1: Gonbei Seaweed Salad (RM45)

this is the BEST salad I've ever had! There are various types of seaweeds, taste superb even without the sesame sauce. I'll definitely come back for this. Miss the crunchy and original taste of seaweeds~

Appetiser 2: Vietnamese Spring Rolls (RM35)

The prawns are fresh and bouncing in my tongue *doink doink ...*

Main 1: Lemon-Lime Shrimps skewers (RM60)

shrimps are a little spicy but taste good to me.

Another portion of fresh salad. Healthy meal ahem~

This may not be a huge portion for a hungry man :)

So we ordered the roast chicken~

Main 2: Roast Chicken (RM55)

Very filing portion with the mashed potato underneath the 1/4 chicken.

Burp~~very full with our first lunch at Royal Bay Beach Club @ Pangkor Laut Resort.

Happy :)

The friendly staff came and check on us if we need more dessert and whether we are satisfied with all the courses.

Then he served us coffee/tea (inclusive in our package for every meal)

We are done with our lunch and a friendly staff came to inform us that the room is ready for check in.

Ohh...really need a bath after long hour travel, feel the sweat sticky yucky...

As we walked along from the straits to spa villa, we have made reservations for the next day activity - tai chi quan (9.30am) and yoga class (8.30am) on the following day.

Anniversary Getaway - Pangkor Laut Resort

it has been a long 5 years we are tied up with works and family after married.

after some advise from the doctor, we finally decided to have a getaway, only 2 of us, without kids to a quiet and relax place.

the initial plan was to Bali or Krabi or overseas island.

after much consideration on kids arrangement, budget, schedule, etc. we decided to check on local trip instead.

the are a lot of choices on local trip: hills, beaches, islands, we are just blessed with many options.

however, due to rainy season and end year monsoon season, we try to avoid east coast island. i know a lot of people will say straits of malacca beaches and islands not as clean as eat coast or Sabah, but there is one private island, which was recommended by a friend - the Pangkor Laut Resort!

Pangkor Laut Resort is privately own by YTL Hotels.

I'm getting excited and looking forward for a great escapade with hubby :)

Kerastase Densifique Hair Shampoo & Mask Review + Giveaway @Cindy's Planet

Sacrifice. 

I must say a mum is not only sacrificing the time and effort, she is as well sacrifice her health to make sure giving the best to her children.

From my volume, thick and healthy hair 4 years ago, my hair is now thin, dull and sensitive scalp. Some said it's due to the hormone changed and 2-3 times midnight breastfeeding that cause and will get over it when the child quit breastfeeding. Some suggest me to quit breastfeeding and give formula instead to avoid more hair loss. But, I want the best for the baby, so I rather sacrifice the sleeping hours and continue breastfeeding journey because I feel the intimate relationship with her during breastfeeding. I've decided to do hair treatment after breastfeeding stop. 

I have signed up a course for the hair loss treatment, after about 12 treatments, the result is not satisfying and the hair volume does not go back to the original. It is so disappointing. Many types of shampoos I have tried but still not one given me a good result.

After several years of collection, here is my sharing for the fake eyelashes (FEL) from shu uemura.

I've tried several brands of FEL and found that shu uemura FEL is the most comfy and able to re-use many times. Even my first pair that bought 6 years ago is still useable. The first time looking for a pair of FEL and shu uemura brand shock me with the price tag RM35, whereas other brand / non-brand can get 10 pairs with the same price. Crazy right?

But I never regret of buying it as it enhance the whole makeover and win compliments from people around that encouraged me to be hardworking on self apperance. 没有丑女人，只有懒女人。

shu uemura FEL are handmade and that's the reason the selling price is higher compared to other brands.

Here goes my favourite top 3!

my first pair and No. 1 all time favourite: FEL soft cross (RM60)

 
Soft cross is the most natural lashes and can be used even during daytime. this natural looking criss cross design creates the appearance of thicker and voluminous eyelashes. It is easy to apply even for a first time user.

My No. 2 favourite: FEL Luxe Black (RM60)

Luxe Black is good to be used during night as it open up the eyes and make them look sharper and wider. thicker at the roots, It tapers at the tips for luscious looking lashes with a defined eyeline.

My No. 3 favourite: FEL Navy Twill (RM55)

 
NAvy Twill is an excellent choice for natural look with a touch of glam. it is a delicate blend of navy colour with defining black shades twilled together. Simultaneously give the illusion of eye shadow while adding refined volume and length.
